ADA is a malay word. In English it means "have/own/possess" but I prefer to translate it as "plenty or rich"..haha, coz Jojo start to mumble this word over and over again so I hope it means something good la !
Also, yesterday we heard him say "mum mum"...(eat in hokien)
Ah Ma told me that he could be trying to address me (mommy) coz he said this when he saw a lady in TV whom looks a bit like me hor...really??!
Other words which I heard him mumble before were like..."tata'', "dada","aiyo" or "aiya", something sound like 'helo' etc......so you see, Jojo "talk" a lot now....haha!
by the way, he copies too! (so we got to watch out what we say now...hmmm..)
what do i mean?
Let's say I cough, he will start 'coughing' too...
or I make noise with my tongue with 'tuck tuck' sound, he replicate it :P, so amusing..

Meaning of Joshua 陈明宏
Was tagged by Evan's mum last Friday (Thanks Angie!), and it's the first tag I ever received..hence I was pretty excited about doing it yet have no idea how to go about it althou' I have seen tags in other mommies' blogs before...
Anyway Angie told me it's just copying something over to Jojo's blog and inserting comments on the subject.
Unfortunately I didn't have the time to update Jojo's blog at all over the weekend. Ok, will try to catch up on this over these few days...
What we did were:
Anyway Angie told me it's just copying something over to Jojo's blog and inserting comments on the subject.
Unfortunately I didn't have the time to update Jojo's blog at all over the weekend. Ok, will try to catch up on this over these few days...
Here's the stories...
Jojo's full name is Joshua Tan Ming Hoong. 陈明宏.
Joshua basically means "Bringer of truth" in spiritual connotation and he would be blessed in what he does (hopefully!)
Personally I like the Chinese character of 明 which means smart & intelligence & 宏 which means great & famous.
Naming my baby was really a 'big task' for us especially both of us don't really know how to start. We were trying to consult both our parent on this, if there is any prefered 'family names' which we need to follow or any 'pantang larang' on naming we should note etc.....well, both grandparents also no concerns thus ok, meaning we can just name anything for our baby..What we did were:
- My friend lends me 2 books on naming, one for English names and another on Chinese names. I felt that the Chinese one was difficult to follow, so at the end I just put it aside. Then we pick a few 'favorites' from the English naming book - Jonathan, Joshua, Issac, ..etc. The English one was quite good coz it provides meaning on each of the names.
- Coming to decide on which English name was not easy. Another friend of mine shared on how her baby 'choosed' his own name. What she did was during her pregnacy, she explained to her baby that she was going to choose a name for him. She choosed some names earlier, and called them out in schedule to her baby. Then she told her baby to 'kick' her if he likes the name she called out. After repeated them a few times, her baby decided his own name. Sound interesting....so I try the same on my baby, unfortunately I was not so lucky :( my baby didnt response at all..
- At the end, daddy is the one decided to name our baby Joshua!
- As for the Chinese name, I was thinking of paying someone to give Jojo a 'good name' coz there was so many 'rules' to follow for Chinese name. And I was concerned if the name may affect Jojo's luck and fortune/destiny in future.....But at the end, hubby objected the idea coz he thinked I was too supertiteos.
- Then when the due date was getting nearer & nearer...and I started to worry! So I kept pressing hubby to come out with the Chinese name. Suddenly one day he came back from work and told me he want to name our baby "Ming Hoong", which to him means "Famous". So I start to check from websites which Chinese characters are the best for "Ming Hoong" and this is how I ended naming Jojo 明宏, which in the website was specified as 稳重、有创造力, 温 和 、 浪 漫 、 有 情 有 义. Not bad, plus I like the character coz they are simple and nice,

I see YOU hor!
No idea where or how Jojo picks up this trick recently, but it's really amusing to see him doing this! :)
He likes to pull out the alphebets from the floor mat and, if the alphebet has hole like "B","P","O" etc...then now sometimes he will peep through the hole and look at you.
This one I purposely gave him a B, and he immediately peep through them.
Another form of pee-keboo game?
"Helloooo mommy, I c U!! can u c me?"
Baby "spider-man"
I didn't have time to watch the "Spider Man 3" yet which is a hot movie shown recently in cinema. But then a baby spider man was seen in our home, JIT to kill my 'icth' for the movie....
watch below and u know what I mean..
Can't even take my eye off Jojo now, phew!
Note: actions above were done under supervison :) To all babies, do not DIY at home!

JOSHUA
I bought these cute alphebets when Jojo was about 5M old, and stick them on our bedroom's door.
Every morning & night whenever I carry him into/out from the room, I'll let him look at it and read out his name for him....( i m trying to test-see if this will help him in reading & writing his name easier in later stage)
anyway this now becomes one of his favorite spot. He will laugh and try to touch the alphebets everytime he see them :)
Just a thought!
Hubby and I don't have long eye lashes.
But Jojo's lashes is definitely longer and prettier than ours..
his eyes r bigger and more killer look too..(definitely killing his mommy, me la..)
So hubby always says..hmm, how come Jojo doesn't follow us?
So I told hubby...minus plus minus equal to positive, so tat's the results lor :D

SAHM*
SAHM = "stay at home mum". Haha, I learn this word from Joyce :)
well, I get to be a SAHM for this whole week. Not that I am on leave or what, I still work but thanks to my understanding boss I was allowed to work from home while my MIL is away to HK for her holidays + visiting her daughter.
Needless to say more, it is a great week for me; being a SAHM, I get to see Jojo anytime I want. I do breakfast, lunch, dinner with him and also bath him. A full day event! (Btw, I have made prior arrangement with my boss on this, so don mis-understand this mommy curi tulang la..)
Surprisely Jojo seems to also 'understand' that I am around the house during the weekday time and wanna manja with me each time he 'spots' or 'hears' me.....(To me) this is just so heart-melting la..
The downside is that I can't fully concentrate on my work so need to do a bit of "OT" after putting Jojo to bed. Luckily my mum came to help looking after Jojo too cause "officially" I am "on duty" not "onleave" so that I can just occasionally check on him if he cries etc..
I really enjoy every moments spent with my baby and I always wonder what types of things which I can do/work at home so that I can spend more time with my baby than being a full-time working mum. I believed every working mommy know that there'r so many things we may missed out in our babies' life for not able to be with them most of the time.
Unfortunately still no idea yet la..so unless one day circustances allow or until I figure out the good $$ home generating business which I can venture in...(haha...)I will have to just waive bye bye to "SAHM" life at this moment........

Mother's Day
First time for me and Jojo since this is our first year :)
So before the day, I kept asking hubby what Jojo would give me for this first mother's day la...hehe giving hint away that the daddy shld do something on behalf (evil thought!) ...
Unfortunately my hubby wasnt the 'sentimental' type so all my hints go into 'longkang saja'.
Thou' mommy got no gift, we all went for a good simple lunch together with my mum, my auntie & her daughter which is my cousin's family with her 1 year old baby. Daddy gets to pay the bill, Aha!
It was a 4 mothers' celebration on the day! Btw, Jojo get to meet his cousin baby for the first time too.

Steamboat
Haha..nope, Jojo din get to eat steamboat :) it was mommy's !
I brought Jojo to my colleuges' steamboat lunch on saturday so that he gets to 'see' and 'socialize' with more non-family members. I think it's good for him so that he wouldn't be like "katak di bawah tempurung" :)
So being the youngest member there, obviously he get to be the central of attention and got to be carried by many pretty cher cher lor :D
Initially he was kinda 'cool baby' but soon he started to explore the apartment and felt ease, just like 'at home'. I am luckly he was fine with anyone carrying him...(good for me, mommy can sit down and enjoy the steamboat..hehe)
Jojo was having a good time...so does mommy!! yupee ~~

Taiping Zoo
We were supposed to follow ah kong to Ipoh for a tim sum morning trip on Labour day holiday, but dear daddy was too lazy to go so far and decided to go Taiping zoo instead....so this is how we ended there ;p
Mommy didn't oppose (thou' I actually wanted to eat the Ipoh tim sum) coz thinking zoo would be more fun for you rather than timsum trip..
We reached Taiping zoo around 10.15am. It was quite a good day, not so sunny yet still very hot!! whoever wanna visit better bring umbrella the next time. No 'good' food available there so better bring /eat before going. And always go early coz when we about to leave at 12pm, there was a long queue of cars looking for parking..phew..
For jojo, I think he was still a wit bit too young to enjoy a zoo trip...
